Claiming one child has about $3500 Deductible, Depending on your income and expanses it can be any were from $500 to 1500. As you stated, you should file jointly and there is a $10900 Deductible for filing jointly, which will be able to maximize your return. Good Luck.Who much benefit money can couples get with 1 child?
The best way to get the max EIC is to file Joint. Depending on your income will you know how much you'll get. The cut off for EIC is 35 thousand and above. Once you make over that, you are no longer qualify but still eligible for child credit. Now if one person makes 25 thousand and the other makes 15 thousands, unless you aren't married, you can file HOH and still get EIC.
